One day as an experiment, Vanessa set out in the streets of her city, with one blindfold, a Free Hugs sign, and open arms, only to have connection with strangers that she had never felt before. Through this unique experience of storytelling, pictures, discussion, and practice, others learn the healing, powerful, and uplifting benefits of hugging.
About the company:
Vanessa White Fernandes offers Free Hugs as often as possible. She has an army of volunteers that offer hugs with her, most recently at Scranton Fringe 2015. She also travels to college campuses, churches, and community centers, in her VW Beetle, the Hug Bug, to share with other humans the power of hugs. Her son, Jace, assists her in teaching people the art of mindful hugging.
